For the students by the students, a School Exo Day is a lunchtime festival which consists of a free BBQ, giveaways and a band or special guest. It’s purpose is to inspire students to have hope that no matter what circumstances they’re in right now life can get better, and that they were born for a reason.

A Local School Exo Day

Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Check out what Laura from Hawkesbury Church sent through about an A School Exo Day happening in her local area...

"For the first time ever, Windsor High School will be having our own Exo Day held on Friday the 11th of September.  A school of approximately 500 students including 20 keen, motivated, committed Christians, the day is looking to be a huge success!
We are very excited to have our very own local band “Sunset Riot” to be performing, and also a hip hop rapper, Tim Hazra known as “Genesiz.”
The day will also consist of competitions, giveaways, prizes, a show bag for every student and free food of course, including a bbq lunch, fairy floss, and home-made treats!!
We can’t wait to promote that life really is excellent to both the students and teachers. We are praying and believing for lives to be changed, impacted and inspired to live a life full of joy."

Don't forget to write in and tell us about your School Exo Day!

School Exos Are Going Off!!

Monday, August 24, 2009

We’ve had some incredible School Exo Days already. A week ago, Katie and Chloe from Tara Anglican School had their School Exo Day and I am personally so encouraged and excited by the feedback I got from them. They’d been working hard all year to make this a phenomenal day. And I believe they exceeded everyone’s expectations!! Students and teachers were raving about the day. Read this and maybe steal some of their ideas...

“The music zone was such a success because the boys that came sung covers of popular songs so everyone was dancing and really getting into it.

We put tickets for all the food stalls in the show bags and everyone got enough food. All the food got eaten and we didn’t have excessive amounts of left over food, except for biscuits and icing which we made and gave out after school and to the boarding girls.
The coloured hair spray stall was more popular than we though so next year we should get more cans.
Everyone had such a great day, everyone was saying it was the best Exo Day we had ever had. My non-Christian friends said they had an awesome time even though the whole thing was about God. I got like a billion compliments from teachers and students and so it was extremely successful!”

Let me know what’s happening at your school! Just shout me a quick update on leonore.huber@youthalivensw.com

With The Big Exo Day only months away, now is the time to start organising your School Exo Day event in your local school. This year we would love to see over 200 schools across NSW have the chance to be part of an annual school event which I believe is second to none.

School Exo Days are designed to help fellow students know that Life is Excellent and is best lived without harmful substances and lifestyles!

Simply register your intent to run a School Exo Day through The Big Exo Day website and download your complete pack on what to do, who to talk to and other general information about School Exo Day programs.

We want to partner with you and your friends to put on the best day possible for your schools so if you have any questions give me a call at the Youth Alive office.

The Real Heroes

Thursday, May 07, 2009

School Exo Days are about ordinary young people having an extraordinary impact in their community. It’s simple. It’s about showing others in your world that life can be excellent, giving out some free stuff, and saying hey no matter what you’re going through things can get better!!!

Can you imagine how many young people out there think they’re rotten? Think they’re a mistake? Don’t feel accepted? Don’t feel happy? I know because that’s what it was like for me growing up. I was SO sure I was adopted!!! No one ever told me I was valuable, or born for a purpose, or that one day, somehow, life could be excellent?!?!?!

It’s amazing how much of an impact you can make with a simple sausage sizzle, a band and some giveaways. A School Exo Day can be the thing that radically changes the environment of your school or uni.

This year we really want to equip you with whatever we can to help make your Exo Days a huge success. Make sure you register your school or uni, and we can then help you secure guests, and assist you in your planning etc.

You guys are the real heroes of Big Exo Day. Keep us posted!
